Jonathan Rowland is an assistant professor faculty member with the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center's department of emergency medicine in Houston, TX. Dr. Rowland completed his emergency medicine residency at Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University Sinai Grace Hospital and developed a love for point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and went on to complete an emergency ultrasound fellowship at the University of California, Irvine. He is currently the POCUS director and is setting up MD Anderson's POCUS program from the ground up while working as an attending in one of the only dedicated oncologic ER's in the country. Dr. Rowland's professional interests include hand-held ultrasound devices, oncologic emergencies, and ultrasound-guided IV placements and nerve blocks. In his free time, he's usually playing with his two children (4 and 3) or woodworking in his garage.
